22.03 - 02.04.19 Collective exhibition of young artists INSIGHTS
March 22 Spivakovska ART:EGO gallery presents a collective exhibition of young Ukrainian artists INSIGHTS. The exhibition will feature works made in different media. As a result of the selection of works that were received as part of the Open Call from the Spivakovska ART:EGO gallery, the curators formed a list of authors whose works will be presented at the final exhibition. The exposition will consist of works in which the original style of performance and conceptual correspondence to a given theme were noted.
The main idea of the final exhibition: deep reflection of the artist. It is based on the issue of self-identification of the artist, his internal self-search and harmonization with the outside world. Due to what the artist shows his "I" in the works? Where does his personal boundaries end and the moment of influence and intervention of external factors begin? How can an artist find himself through his creative work, not yielding to the temptations to change under the influence of external circumstances?
Artworks of such authors will be presented: Tatyana Rusetskaya (Kiev), Katerina Repa (Odessa), Dmitry Zazimko (Kiev), Marina Borodulya (Kiev), Tatyana Kolesnik (Kharkov), Elizaveta Khilko (Kiev), Taras Gayda (Kiev), Eugene Tkachenko (Kiev), Anastasia Ryabtseva (Dnipro), Alexey Nosenko (Kiev), Igor Redkin (Kiev), Irina Loik (Lviv), Maria Garnik (Kiev), Artem Andreichuk Kaffelman (Kiev), Oksana Titenko (Kiev).
“We are always open to new names and we welcome not only accomplished, but also young talented artists,” - says Lika Spivakovska, founder of Spivakovska ART:EGO gallery.
The project was curated by Yulia Mikhno and Darya Bilenko.
Daria Bilenko, curator of the exhibition:
“As a curator and insider of the art sphere, I watch with great interest the appearance of new names on the local art scene. For me, it is important to get acquainted with young artists who are ready to declare themselves and carry on a creative dialogue. When I got acquainted with the works of the participants, I, first of all, paid attention to the reflections of their internal personal transformations, as well as to the fresh sound of already known techniques. I have a favorite work in the exhibition. I am sure that they will also appear in the viewer ”.
Julia Mikhno, curator of the exhibition:
“The purpose of this Open Call, first of all, was to present to the general public the works of those artists who, for various reasons, remain in the workshops. The formation of the Ukrainian art market is now in its initial stages and many young artists do not know how to cooperate with galleries, they are afraid of the reaction of the audience, art critics, etc. And in order to get recognition, popularity and sales, respectively - you just need to start acting, go beyond the workshop! I was very pleased and pleasantly surprised by the concept of the works submitted for selection (there were several hundred of them!): Deep meanings, innovative thinking, approach. We have extremely talented artists! Come to the exhibition and see for yourself. "
